Exploring the Q-Flash
TM
utility screen
The Q-FlashBIOS ut ility s creen c onsists of the f ollowing k ey components.
Task menu for Q-Flash utility:
Cont ains the names of t hree tas ks. Blocking a task and press ing Enter k ey on your keyboard to enable
exec ution of the task .
Action bar:
Contains the names of four act ions needed to operate the Q-Flas h ut ility. Press ing the buttons mentioned
on y our k eyboards to perform t hese actions.
Using the Q -Flash
TM
utility:
This section tells y ou how to update BIOS using the Q-F lash ut ility. As desc ribed in the " Before you
begin" sect ion above, you must prepare a f loppy disk hav ing t he BI OS file for y our motherboard and
ins ert it to y our c omputer. If you have already put the f loppy disk int o y our sy stem and have ent ered
the Q-Flash utilit y, please f ollow the steps below to f lash BIOS.
Steps:
1. Press arrow but tons on your keyboard to move the light bar to " Updat e BI OS from Floppy " item in
the Q-Flash menu and pres s Ent er but ton.
Lat er, you will s ee a box pop up show ing t he BIOS f iles y ou prev iously downloaded to t he floppy
disk.
If you w ant to save the c urrent BIOS for backup purpose, you can begin Step 1 wit h " Save
BIOS to Floppy" item .
2. M ov e to the BI OS f ile y ou w ant to f lash and press Ent er.
I n th is exampl e, we o nly downlo ad o ne BIOS file to the flop py disk so on ly one B IOS fi le,
8GE800.F 4, is listed.
Pleas e confirm again you hav e t he correct BIOS file f or your motherboard.
