To receive a data or fax call
Your phone must be connected to your PC via th e data
cable.
1.
The appropriate data or fax software mu st be run -
ning. Consider setting your data or fax software to
automatically answer incomi ng call s so you can
receive them while aw ay from your PC.

Your phone will display either
Data call
or
Fax ca ll
,
depending on the type of incoming call.
3.
Termina te th e data c all from yo ur data so ftware; fax
calls typically termi nate automatically.
Note: Av oid termina ting a c all by p r essin g yo ur phon e’s k ey.
Th is may cause your data or fax app licatio n to temporarily lock up
and could cause loss of data.
M anual selection of incoming dat a/fax calls
Certain service providers require that you preset your
phone to receive the incoming data or fax call, rather
th an h av ing th e ph o n e auto matic ally d etec t the c all ty pe.
Check wi th your service provider to see if “pre-arrangement” of
data and/or fax calls is necessary.
Most popular data and fax programs allow you to send
additional initialization commands to the modem when
the program is launched, or when the modem is
in struc ted to rec eive a call. You w ill need to modify yo ur
p ho n e’s mo de m co n fig u ratio n in th e da ta o r fax so ftware
so th at it sen ds the followin g special initializatio n strin g
to the modem:
To preset your phone to receive a data call:
AT+CSP=1
To preset your phone to receive a fax call:
AT+CSP=2
