By setting your phon e to use a h ome-type or a preferred
system, it’s possible for you to receive discounted
roaming charges. Check with your service provider to
maximize use of this feature.
In non-pref erred syst ems, normal roaming charges are
d eterm in ed b y the h o st sy ste m. Yo u r p h o n e is d esig n ed to
se le c t a s y ste m m o st fa v o ra b le to y o u c o nc ern ing the c o st
of the call and reception quality.
Note: When roaming in some systems, you may need to have a
roaming agreement in order to place a call. If no roaming
agreement has been arranged, a network operator may interrupt
and request information on how you intend to pay for the call.
If you have more than one phone number
The currentl y-selected NAM in your phone determines
which system is your current home system.

Text messages and paging
When you subscribe to the text messaging netw ork
service, you can receive text messages and pages with
your phone. See your service provider for details and
availability.
Text message options
Inbox
is where incoming messages are received and
stored. Al l new, unread messages are kept here.
Saved
is where all saved, read messages are kept here.
Erase a l l
allo w s y ou to erase all tex t messag es. Howev er,
unread text messages will not be erased.
Receivi ng text messages
The max imum length of a r ec eiv ed text messag e is abo ut
2 5 0 charac ters. Yo u r p h one h as sp ac e to r ec eiv e u p to 30
tex t messages, depending on the length of each one.
Note: Text messa ges that yo u receive w ith yo u r p ho ne ma y ap pear
different at times, due to messages that originate in networks
other than your ow n. Th is d oes not a ffect the use of you r phon e in
any way.
