Chapter 2 BIOS Setup

Chapter 2 prov ides an ov erview of t he BIOS Setup Program , which allow s us ers t o modify t he basic
system configurations . This ty pe of information is st ored in bat tery-backed CMOS RAM so that it retains
the Setup informat ion w hen the power is t urned off.
ENTERING BIOS Se tup
Turning on the c om put er and pres sing <Del> im mediat ely allow y ou t o enter BIOS Setup. I f you need
more adv anced BIOS s ett ings, pleas e press C tr l and F1 key s on the BI OS main screen to acces s the
the advanc ed BIOS s ettings .
Main Menu
The on-line description of the highlight ed setup function is displayed at the bottom of t he sc reen.

The Main Menu (For example: BIOS Ver . : F8c)
Once you enter Award BIOS CM OS Setup U tility , the Main M enu (as figure below ) will appear on t he
screen. T he M ain Menu allows you to s elec t from eight set up f unct ions and two exit c hoices. Use
arrow k ey s to selec t among t he items and pres s <Enter> t o ac cept or enter the s ub-menu.
