Langu age se lection
The display lang uage of your phone is normally
the national langua ge of the country in which you
purchased your SIM ca rd. If this is not the case the
display lang uage will be Eng lish. You have the
option of choosing be tween differe nt langua ges.
(See page 10 for how to select lang uage).
Automatic redial
If the phone numbe r you are calling is busy or
your call is not answe red, you can let your
phone make up to 10 automatic re dial a ttempts.
A special redialling succe ss tone sounds whe n the
attempt is succe ssful. To cance l the auto re dialling
attempts just pre ss the left function key.
Network selection
Whe n you wish to use your phone abroad, you
have to se lect a fore ign network. This can be
done either ma nually or by le tting your telephone
do it for you a utomatically.
In the automa ticmode, your phone will auto-
matically try to re ach your home network first,
then, alterna tively to find a nother available ne t-
work store d in a prefe rred list made by you (se e
below) .
In the manua lmode, the phone will a lwa ys start
searching for the network with which it was in
contact when it wa s switche d off. If the phone
cannot locate this network it will pre sent some
alternative ne tworks on the displa y, and you can
then select one manually.
You can se lect any ne twork from the list, but
your phone can g et in contact only with co-
operating ne tworks (Roa ming). T he telephone can
get into contact with other networks but only for
emerg ency calls.
Your dea ler or network opera tor can tell you
which networks are co-operating .
Pref erred list
The list of networks on your SIM ca rd define s the
order of prefe rence in which your phone will se-
le ct a network in automa tic mode. Ne twork ope-
rators offer differe nt service s and call charg es;
therefore it may be be neficia l for you to make a
preferre d list of your own. Enter the individual
networks in your own order of pre ference and
store them on your SIM ca rd.
To do this, you must acce ss the Sele ction of net-
work sub me nu, select the
Set prefe rred list
op-
tion a nd use to select the empty location in
which you wa nt to store the new network. Pres-
sing
EDIT
will g ive you a list of a vailable net-
works. Scroll through the list using . When
you see a network you wish to store in your pre-
