Exp osure to radio frequency
signals
Your mobile handhe ld portable tele-
phone is a low power ra dio transmitter
and rece iver. Whe n it is on, it rece ives
and also se nds out radio freque ncy (RF)
sig nals.
In August, 1996, the Fede ral
Communications Commissions (FC C)
adopted RF e xposure guideline s with
sa fety le vels for ha ndheld mobile phones.
Those guideline s are consiste nt with the
safety sta ndards set by both U.S and
inte rnational standa rd bodies:
ANSI C 95.1 (1992)*
NC RPRe port 86 (1996)*
ICNIRP(1996)*
Those standards we re based on com-
prehensive a nd periodic evaluations of
the releva nt scientific lite -rature. For
example, ove r 120 scientists, eng ineers,
and physicia ns from unive rsitie s, govern-
ment hea lth age ncies, and industry
reviewed the a vaila ble body of rese arch
to develop the ANSI Sta ndard (C95.1) .
The de sign of your phone complies with
the FC C guidelines a nd the above stan-
dards.
