PIN code
To prevent misuse of your SIM ca rd, e.g . if it is lost
or stole n, you can sele ct a PIN code to be ente red
each time you switch on the phone.
The PIN code is a 4 to 8-dig it number of your
own choice , which you can chang e a ny time
you like .
If you enter a n invalid PIN code three times, your
SIM card will be blocked a nd to unblock it you
have to e nter the PIN Unblocking K ey (PUK ) code
supplied by your ne twork opera tor. This proce-
dure preve nts unauthorized pe rson from working
out your PIN code by repe ate dly ente ring differe nt
combinations of numbers.
The display will inform you how ma ny tries you
have left be fore the SIM card is blocke d. If you
enter a n invalid PUK code 10 time s, your SIM
card will be perma nently blocked a nd you have
to contact your network opera tor to have it un-
blocked.
Some SIM ca rds use a PIN2 code for accessing
special functions. Contact your ne twork opera tor
for further informa tion on PUK 2 and PIN2 codes.

phone is stolen it ca nnot be used toge ther with
another SIM card. To e nable this feature just se lect
SIM lock on
and ente r an 6 to 16-dig it code
of your own choice .
For your own sake re membe r
to write down this code to be able to de activa te
the lock a t a la ter time. You have 10 attempts be-
fore the phone is blocked.
