Once a network is stored in the pre ferred list, you
can always se e the country and network code of

Ban d selection
You ca n select whethe r or not your phone should
start searching for a spe cific kind of ne twork auto-
matica lly. You can also se lect manually whether
you want it to search only for GSM 900 or GSM
1800/GSM 1900 networks.
Powe r saving
To save your batte ry and thus increa se both
conversa tion and standby times you can se lect
whethe r you want the displa y contents to be
visible or not in sta ndby mode.
Sele ct
Display remains on
if you wa nt it
to be visible , and
Display switches off
if you wa nt it not to be visible. The display will
switch off afte r 3 minutes in standby mode.
In sta ndby mode the displa y and ke ypad ba cklig ht
will alwa ys switch off afte r 10 seconds if your tele-
phone is se t to
Backlight on
. Howe ver , you
have the option of ha ving the backlight switched
off perma nently by se lecting
Backlight off

Car kit installation
This option is only effective if the phone is con-
nected to a handsfre e ca r kit. Se e pa ge 39 for

We lcome gree ting
You ca n chang e the welcome gre eting of your
phone according to your own wishes. Delete the
old messa ge by holding
CLEAR
, enter the new
gree ting via the keypa d and confirm by pre ssing
OK
