Timer
To use the timer, it must be wound using the "M" knob.
Turn the knob almost one full turn in the clockwise direction
. Then, turn the knob back , and set the time by
positioning the number (minutes) on the knob dial beneath
the mark on the control panel.
Baking Pastries
When baking pastries, always place them in the oven after it
has been preheated (about 15 minutes). Nor mal tempera-
tures are around 160°C. Do not open the door while the pas-
try is cooking in order to prevent it from dropping. Batters
should not be too runny , as this will result in prolonged cook-
ing times. In general, f ollow the guidelines below .
Pastry is too dry
Increas e the temperature by 10°C and reduce the
cooking ti me.

Use less liq uid or lower the temperature by 10°C.

flour.

Use a lower temperature setting. It is not neces sar y to
remove the food from all the racks at the same time.
Cooking Fish and Meat
Meat must weigh at least 1 kg in order to prevent it from
drying out. When cooking white meat, fowl and fish, use low
temperature settings (150°C-175°C). For red meat that should
be well done on the outside while tender and juicy on the
inside, it is a good idea to start with a high temperature set-
ting (200-220°C) for a short time, then tur n the oven down
afterwards. In general, the larger the roast, the lower the
temperature setting and the longer the total cooking time.
Place the meat on the centre of the rac k and place the drip-
ping pan beneath it to catch the f at. Mak e sure that the rack
is inserted so that it is in the centre of the ov en. If you would
like to increase the amount of heat from below, use the lower
rack heights. For savoury roasts, dress the meat with lard or
bacon on the top .
Using the grill
The setting
Double Grill” allo ws y ou to grill along the
entire surface area of the grill itself. Use this feature when
you have food distributed uniformly beneath the grill and you
want it to be bro wned e venly.
Important: when using the grill, keep the oven door
closed, to obtain the best result and save energy
(about 10%).
When utilizing the grill, place the rack at the lower levels
(see cooking table). To catch grease or fat and prevent
smoke , place a dripping-pan at the bottom rack lev el.

A v oid the children touch the o v en door because it is v ery
hot during the cooking.
3rd Oven Glass
In order to further decrease the temperature of the oven
door and reduce energy consumption, a supplemental kit
has been made available. This kit should be installed if
the oven is used in the presence of small children. To in-
stall the protective glass for the oven door (code 074657),
contact your nearest Merloni Eletrodomestici Service
Centre indicated on the list provided with the appliance .
