Pre ferred list
The list of ne tworks on your SIM ca rd define s the
order of pre ference in which your phone will se-
le ct a network in a utomatic mode . Network ope-
rators offe r differe nt se rvices a nd call charges;
there fore it ma y be bene ficia l for you to make a
prefe rred list of your own. Enter the individual
networks in your own order of prefere nce and
store the m on your SIM card.
To do this, you must access the Selection of ne t-
work sub me nu, se lect the
Set preferre d list
op-
tion a nd use to sele ct the empty location in
which you wa nt to store the new network.
Pressing
EDIT
will give you a list of ava ilable
net-works. Scroll throug h the list using . Whe n
you see a network you wish to store in your pre-
ferre d list, just press
OK
. If you select a currently
used location a nd press
EDIT
, the forme r occu-
pant ca n be deleted whe n you enter the new one .
Just press
EXIT
to le ave the list a s it was.
Once a network is store d in the pre ferred list, you
can a lways se e the country a nd network code of
the a ctual ne twork by pressing
EDIT
in the
Set
prefe rred list
option.
Po wer sav ing
To sa ve your batte ry and thus incre ase both
conversa tion and sta ndby times you can se lect
whe ther you want the display contents to be
visible or not in standby mode .
Sele ct
Display remains on
if you want it
to be visible, and
Display switches off
if you want it not to be visible . The display will
switch off afte r 3 minutes in sta ndby mode.
In standby mode the displa y and ke ypad backlig ht
will alwa ys switch off afte r 10 se conds if your te le -
phone is se t to
Backlight on
. Howeve r, you
have the option of having the backlig ht switche d
off perma nently by sele cting
Backlight off
.
Car kit insta llatio n
This option is only effe ctive if the phone is con-
necte d to a handsfree car kit. See page 36 for
more information.
We lco me gre etin g
You can cha nge the welcome gree ting of your
phone a ccording to your own wishes. De lete the
old me ssa ge by holding
CLEAR
, ente r the new
gre eting via the keypad a nd confirm by pressing
OK
.
Sp ee d d iallin g
To spe ed dial using your loca tion numbers, you
have to se lect
Speed dialling on
. If you
do not wa nt to make use of this fea ture, sele ct

.

You can a nswer an incoming call by pressing any
key you like except for the left function key and
