The electrode clearance of the spark plug should
be 0.7 mm to 0.8 mm.
Never start the engine without a spark plug.
ADVICE
An incorrect spark plug can cause en-
gine damage.
Cleaning the engine
CAUTION!
Danger of fire!
Remove flammable objects from the ex-
haust and the cylinder area.
Clean the cooling system. In order to prevent
overheating, also clean the internal cooling vanes
and surfaces.
ADVICE
Do not spray the engine with water.
Clean with a brush or rags.

Comply with the intervals measured in hours or
years, whichever occurs first. For use under more
demanding conditions, more frequent mainten-
ance is required.

Before every use
Check the engine oil level.
Inspect the air filter.
After the first 20 operating hours or 1 month after
first use.
Oil change
Every 50 operating hours or every 3 months
Clean the air filter

Every 100 operating hours or every 6 months

Clean the sludge trap on the petrol cock.
Clean the spark plug.
Every 300 operating hours, or once per year
Renew the air filter

by service centres and authorised specialist com-
panies.
STORAGE
Storage
1. Drain the suction and pressure lines.
2. Unscrew the drain screw (7) and allow the wa-
ter to flow out of the pump.
3. Screw the drain screw (7) back in, and store
the pump and accessories in a frost-free en-
vironment.
ADVICE
If there is a risk of frost, the system must
be completely drained.
CAUTION!
Do not store motor near open flames or
heating sources - Burn and/or explosion
danger!
Read the operating manual on the appliance
before putting the engine into storage.
Allow the engine to cool down.
Store the engine in a well-ventilated room, not
in the vicinity of naked flames or heat sources
Avoid storing in the following areas:
Close to naked flames
Close to heat sources
Where electric motors are in operation
Where electric tools are in operation
On engines which are to be stored for more
than 30 days, drain the fuel or protect with a
fuel stabiliser as otherwise deposits can form
in the fuel system
Store the appliance in a dry place protected
against frost.
