Setting o th er characteristics
During FM mode, keep pressing and holding for more than 2 seconds the SEL button to turn the setting TA on,
then press it shortly and repeatedly to select o ther settings: PI, RETUNE, MASK, BEEP, SEEK, DSP, LOUD,
STEREO, DX/LOCAL, VOL.
a. TA (Traffic Announcement) mode
To determine what action will the radio t ake if the newly tuned station does not receive TP (Transport
Program) inf ormati on f or 5 seconds. Rotate the VO LUM E knob to select the desi red m ode: TA ALARM and
TA SEEK.
- TA SEEK
When newly tuned station does not receive TP information for 5 seconds, the radio retunes to next station
which has not the same station (PI – Program Information) as the last station, but has the TP information.
When TP information gets lost at the current station for retune time which is set by RETUNE SHORT (60
seconds) or RETUNE LONG (90 seconds), the radio starts to retune to next same PI station. When same
PI station does not catch in 1 cyclic search, the radio retunes to next station with TP information.
- TA ALARM
During searching the radio do es not retune but the double beep sound (alarm) is output .
b. PI mode
“PI” is referred to “Different PI (Program Information) with same AF (Alternative Frequency)”.
If a car cruises that crit ical area back and fo rth, an o scillation phenomenon can be occur red, because t he
different PI code can be receive fro m a same AF. You can select PI SOUND or PI MUTE.
- PI SOUND
When above different PI sound (DIP) is heard once in a while, the DIP's sound will be heard for less than
1 second.
- PI MUTE
Under above same situation, a mute sound will be heard for less than 1 sec.
