Maintenance
Fuse repla cem ent
When replacin g t h e fuse, be sure to use on e
matching the amperag e rating stated on the
original fuse. If the fuse blows, check the powe r
connection and replace the fuse. If the fuse blows
again after replacement, there may be an internal
malfunction. In such a case, con sult your ne ar est
Sony deale r.
Warning
Never use a fuse with an amperage rating
exceeding the one supplied with the unit as this
could da mage the u ni t.
Cleaning the connectors
The unit may not fu nction properly if the
connectors between the unit and the front panel
are not cle an. In orde r t o prevent thi s, detach th e
fro nt panel (p age 6) and clean the connecto rs
wit h a cotton swab dipped in alcoho l . D o not
apply t oo m u ch force. Otherw ise, the c onnectors
may be damaged.
Notes
• For safety, tur n off the igni tion before cleaning the
connectors, and remove the key from the ignition
switch.
• Ne ver touch the connectors directly with your fingers
or with any metal device.
Removing the unit
1 Remove the front cover
1 De tach the front panel (page 6).
2 Pre ss t he clip inside the front cover
with a thin screwdriver.
3 Repea t step 2 for the othe r side.
2 Remove the unit
1 Use a thin screwdriver to push in
the clip on the left side of the unit,
then pull out the left side of the unit
until the catch clears the mounting.
2 Repea t step 1 for the r ight s id e.
3 Slide the unit out of its mounting.
