Changing the sound and
display settings
— Menu
The following items can be set:
Set Up
• Clock (p age 10)
• CT (Clock Time) (pag e 21)
• Beep — to tu rn the beeps on or off.
• Multi language (language selection) — to
change the displa y la nguage to English,
German, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish,
Portuguese, Sw edi sh, Polish , Cz ech, or
Turkish.
• P.Out 4.0V/5.5V — to ch ange the pre-ou t of the
power amplifier to 4. 0V or 5.5V. Sele ct able
only when the u nit is turned off. (CDX-M 770
only)
Display
• D.Info (Dua l In formatio n) — to display the
clock and the play mode at the same time (on).
Functions only when SA is not s et to B-1 – B- 3.
• SA (Spectrum Analyzer) (page 33) — to
chan ge t he display pattern of the equaliz er
display.
• M.Dspl (Motio n Display) — to turn th e Motion
Disp la y m ode on or off.
– Select “on” to sho w decorati on patter ns in the
disp l ay and activ ate Demo display.
– Select “off” to deactivate the Motion Display.
The Demo displa y i n th e M.Dspl wi l l ap pear
about 10 seconds after the unit is turned off.
• Dimmer — to change the bright ness of the
display.
– Select “Auto” to dim the display only when
you turn the lights o n.
– Select “on” to dim the display.
– Select “off” to deactivate the Dimmer.
• Contrast — to adjust the contrast if the
indic at io ns on the displ ay are not recognisab le
because of the unit ’s installation position.
• A.Scrl (Auto Scroll)
– Select “on” to scroll all automatically
displ ayed names exceed in g 8 characte rs.
– When Auto scroll is set to off and the disc/
track name is changed, the disc/track name
does not scroll.
Sound (CDX-M670, MDX-M690 only)
• HPF (High pass filter) (page 31)
• LPF (Low pass filter) (page 31)
• Loud (Loudness ) ( page 31)
Play Mode
• Local on/off (Local seek mode) (page 16)
– Select “on” to only tune into stations with
stronger signals.
• Mono on/off (Mon aural mo de) (page 16)
– Select “on” to hear FM stereo br oadcast in
monaural. Select “off” to return to norm a l
mode.
• REG on/off (Regional) (page 18)
1 Press (MENU).
To set A.Scrl, press (MENU) during CD /M D
playback.
2 Press M or m repeatedly until the
desired item appears.
3 Press , to select th e de si red setting
(Example: “on” or “off”).
4 Press (ENTER).
After the mode settin g is completed, the
displa y r et urns to nor m al pl ay m ode.

The displayed item will differ depending on the source.
Tip
You can easily s witch among categories by pressing M
or m for 2 seconds.
