Automatic retuning for best
reception results
— AF function
The altern ative frequenc ie s (AF ) fu nction allows
the radi o t o alw ays tune into the area’s strongest
signal for the sta tion you are listening to.
1 Select an FM st at io n (pag e 15).
2 Press (AF) repea te dly until “AF on”
appears.
The unit starts searching for an alternative
frequency with a st ronger signal in the same
network.
If “NO AF” flashes, the currently tuned into
station does not hav e an alternativ e frequency.
Note
When there is no alternative frequency in the area or
when you do not need to search for one, turn the AF
function off by selecting “AF
off.”
For stations without alternative
frequencies
Press either si de of (S EEK) while the
station name is flashing (within 8
seconds).
The unit starts searching for anothe r
freque ncy with the same PI (Progr amme
Identification) data (“PI See k” appears).
If the un it cannot find the sa me PI, the unit
returns to the previously selected frequency.
Staying with one regional programme
When AF function is on: this unit’s factory-set
setting restricts reception to a specific region, so
you won’t be s witche d to ano ther re gi onal stati on
with a stronger frequency.
If you leave this regional programm e’s reception
area or would like to take advantage of the whole
AF function, select “REG off” from the MENU
(page 34).
Note
This function does not work in the United Kingdom
and in some other areas.
Local Link function
(United Kingdom only)
Th is function ena b les you to s elect other local
stations in the area, e ve n if they are not stored on
your number buttons.
1 Pres s a number b utton ((1) to (6))
that has a loca l stat i on st or ed on it.
2 Withi n 5 sec onds, press th e num ber
button of the local stat io n agai n.
3 Repeat this procedure unt il the
desired local station is received.
Frequencies change automatically.
