Precautions
• If yo ur car was parked in direct s unl ight, all ow
the unit to cool off before operating it.
• Power aerials will extend automatically while
the unit is operating.
If yo u have any qu estio ns or pr oblem s
concerning your unit that are not covered in this
manual , pl ease con sul t your nearest Sony dealer.
Moisture condensation
On a rainy day or in a very damp area, moisture
conden s at ion may oc cur in side the lenses and
displa y of th e unit. Shoul d this occu r, the unit
will not operate pr operly. In such a case , remo ve
the dis c and wait for about an hour until the
moisture ha s ev aporated.
To maintain high sound quality
Be careful not to splash juice or other soft drinks
ont o the unit or discs.
Notes on discs
• T o keep the disc clean, do not touch the surface.
Hand le th e disc by its edge .
• Keep yo ur discs in th eir cases or disc
magaz i nes when no t in us e.
Do not subject the discs t o heat/high
temperature. Avo id leaving them in park ed cars
or on dashboards/rear trays.
• Do not attach la bels, or use d iscs with stic ky
ink/ residue. Such discs may stop spinning
when u se d, causing a malfunctio n, or may ruin
the di sc.
• Discs with non-standard shapes (e.g., heart,
squa r e, star) cannot be pla yed on this unit.
Attempting to do so may damage the unit. Do
not use such d is cs .
• You cannot play 8cm CDs.
• Before playing, clean t he discs with a
commercially available cleaning cloth. Wipe
each disc from the centre out. Do not use
solv ents such as benzi ne, thinner , commerc ially
available cleaners, or antistatic spray intended
for analog discs.
