Error displays/Messages
*1 When an error occurs during playback of a CD or
MD, the disc number of the CD or MD does not
appear in the displa y.
*2 The disc number of the disc causing the error
appears in the display.
If these solutions do not help improve the
situat io n, consult your nearest Sony de aler.
The “ST” indication flashes.
• Tune in the frequency accurat ely.
• The br oadcast signal is too weak.
t Set to the mona ural recep tion mode (p age
22).
A programme broadcast in stereo is heard
in monaur a l.
The unit is in monaural reception mode.
t Canc el mo naural re ception mode (page
22).
RDS
The SEEK starts after a few seconds of
listening.
The station is non- TP or has weak signal.
t Press (AF) or (TA) repeatedly u nt il “AF-
OFF” or “TA-OFF” ap pears.
No traffic announcements.
• Activate “TA.”
• The station does not broadcast any traffic
announcement s de spite being TP.
t T une in another station.
PTY displays “--------.”
• The current station is not an RDS station.
• RDS data has not been received.
• The st at i on does not specify the programme
type.

The disc magazine is not inserted in the CD/
MD un it.
t Insert the magazine in the CD/MD unit.
NOTREADY
The lid of the MD unit is open or the MDs are
not inserted properly.
t Close the lid or insert the MDs properly.
RESET
The CD/ MD unit ca nnot be oper at ed because
of som e problem.
t Press the RES E T button on th e uni t.

The Local Seek mode is on during automatic
tunin g (page 14 ).

There i s no alternative frequ ency f or the
current station.
