Error displays/Messages
If these solutions do not help improve the
situat io n, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Radio reception
Preset tuning is not possible.
• Store the correct frequency in the memory.
• The br oadcast signal is too w eak.
The stations cannot be received.
The sound is hampered by noises.
• Connect a power aerial control lead (blue) or
accessory power su ppl y lead (re d) to t he
power suppl y lead of a ca r’s aerial booster
(only w hen your car has built-i n FM/AM
aerial in the rear/side g la ss).
• Check the conne ct i on of the car aer ia l .
• The auto aerial will not go up.
t Ch eck the conn ection of the power aerial
contr ol le ad.
• Check the frequency.
Automatic tuning is not possible.
• The local see k mod e is set to “O N.”
t Set the local seek m ode to “OF F” (page
11).
• The br oadcast signal is too w eak.
t Perform manual tuning.
The “ST” indication flashes.
• Tune in the freq uency accurat ely.
• The br oadcast signal is too w eak.
t Set the monaural reception mode to
“ON” (page 11).
A programme broadcast in stereo is heard
in monaur a l.
The unit is in monaural reception mode.
t Ca ncel mona ur al receptio n m ode (page

Error displays
The following indications will flash for about 5
seconds, and an alarm sound will b e heard.
ERROR
• A CD is dirty or inserted upside down.
t Clea n or insert th e C D correc tly.
• A CD cannot play because of some problem.
t Insert anot her CD.
FA ILURE
The connection of speakers/amplifiers is
incorrect.
t See the installation guide manual of this
mode l to check the connec tion.
HI TEMP
The ambient temperature is more than 50°C.
t Wait until the temperature goes down
below 50°C.
OFFSET
There may be an internal malfunction.
t Check the connection. If the error
indication remains on in the display,
consult your nearest Sony deal er.
RESET
The CD unit cannot be operated because of
some problem.
t Press the RE SET button on th e uni t.

L.SE EK + / –
The Local Seek mode is on during automatic
tunin g (page 11).

You have reached the beginn in g or the end of
the disc and you cannot go any fur th er.
