Troubleshooting
Whenever the appliance fails to work, check for a solution from the following list before calling for
Assistance.
* Only available in selected models.
Problem:
Possible causes / Solutions:
The dishwasher doe s not start or
cannot be controll ed
• Switch of f the appliance by pr essing the ON/OFF button, switch it back on after
approximately one minute and reset the program.
• The appliance has not been plugged in properly.
• The dishwasher door has not been shut properly.
The door won’t close • The lock was released. Strongly push the door until a “clacki ng” noise is heard.
No water dr ains out f rom the
dishwasher.
• The dishwasher cycle has not yet fi nished.
• The water inl et hose is bent (see Installation).
• The drain duct is bl ock ed.
• The filt er is clogged up with food residues.
The dishwasher makes excessive
noise.
• The dishes are ratt ling agai nst each other or against t he sprayer arms.
• An excess ive amount of foam has been produc ed: the detergent has not been
measured out correctly or it is not suitable f or use in dishwashers (s ee Start-up and
use).
The dishes and glasses are
covered in a white f ilm or
limescale deposit s.
• The level of the ref ined salt is low or the dosage setting i s not suited to the har dness
of the wat er (see Rinse aid and salt) .
• The lid on the salt dispens er is not closed pr operly.
• The rinse aid has been used up or the dosage is too l ow.
The dishes and glasses are
streaked or have a blui sh tinge.
• The rinse aid dosage is too high.
The crockery has not been dried
properly.
• A wash cycle without a drying program has been selec ted.
• The rinse aid has been used up or the dosage is too l ow (see Rinse aid and sal t).
• The rinse aid dispenser setting is not suitable.
• The crockery is made from non-stick materi al or plastic.
The dishes are not clean. • The racks are overloaded (see Loading the racks).
• The crockery has not been arranged well.
• The sprayer arms cannot move f reely.
• The wash cyc le is too gentle (see Wash cycle s ).
• An excess ive amount of foam has been produc ed: the detergent has not been
measured out correctly or it is not suitable f or use in dishwashers (s ee Start-up and
use).
• The lid on the r inse aid compartment has not been shut correctly.
• The filt er is dirty or blocked (see Care and maintenance).
• The refined salt level is low (see Ri nse aid and salt).
The dishwasher does not t ake any
water in - Tap shut-off alarm
(the displ ay shows A 6).
• There is no water in the mains supply.
• The water inl et hose is bent (see Inst allati on).
• Turn on the tap and the applia nce will start after a few minutes.
• The appliance lock has been activated because no action was taken when the
beeps
*
sounded.
Switch of f the applianc e using the ON/OFF button, turn on the tap and switch the
applianc e back on after 20 seconds by pressing the same but ton. Re-program t he
appliance and restart the wash cycle.
Water inlet hose alarm / Water inlet
fil ter blocked
(the displ ay shows A 7).
• Switch of f the appliance by pr essing the ON/OFF butt on. Shut off t he water tap t o
eliminate the r isk of flooding and remove the plug f rom the electrical socket.
Make sure the water i nlet f ilter has not become blocked by impurities (see “Care
and maintenance” chapt er).
